The proposed new academy for West Salisbury will:
- be sponsored by the Church of England Diocese of Salisbury, Bryanston School and Wiltshire Council
- have an ethos rooted in Christian values while remaining fully inclusive, welcoming students from all faiths and of none
- serve 1200 students aged 11-16, with an additional 250 in the sixth form
- open in the existing school buildings in September 2010, moving into new accommodation in September 2013
- offer a personalised curriculum suited to each individual’s strengths and interests
- build on Salisbury High School’s good practice in the teaching of mathematics (by making this subject a specialism)
- introduce the Arts as a second specialism, helping to develop the skills and confidence of our students
- create a centre to be used and enjoyed by the whole community
